Finally Pullen Park

Well we finally made it to Pullen Park in Raleigh. Everyone always talks about how awesome it is, but we haven't had time to go to it. So today we went with some friends from church, The Joyces', Chris, Stephnie and Madeline. We had a blast. We definitely will be going back. It has a carousel and a train that you can ride for a minimum price. The park is where in The Andy Griffith Show it shows the pond. That is where it was taped, pretty cool. Anyway here are some fun pics from today. Here is Stephnie and Madeline having a picnic and blowing bubbles.

Chloe was so excited that we were going for a picnic at the park today. Sad to say but this was our first picnic as a family. We had lots of fun and it was such a beautiful day.

Here is Caitlyn and Madeline dancing.

Caleb just loves bubbles lately. He just yells "bubbles" over and over and squeals with such delight. I love that sound.
Here Caitlyn is telling him to just relax.

The kids were loving the little hill. They rolled down quite a few times. That is until Chloe starting feeling itchy from the grass. I remember the days of rolling down the hill at Aunt Alices'
Oh the fun my sisters and cousins had.

Here are my 3 musketeers. Oh how I love them.

This is one of my favorite shots. I love how it captures the mind of a little one. He just is so meticulous in picking just the right flower for his mommy. He then came over and gave it to me with a kiss. I love it.

We took a ride on the carousel. Its one of the old time kind. Here is Chloe and Caleb on their horses. Caitlyn wouldn't cooperate with the picture.

We then went and rode the little train. Here is the Joyces' with Chloe and Caleb peeking in.

This is the other part of us. Dale and I with Caleb and Caitlyn.

They were so excited on the train.

After that we headed to the swings. It took us a while to get them in sync so I could get all 4 of them. Am I not a dork .

Caitlyn and Caleb on the jet plane.

Here is Caitlyn relaxin. This is such a funny shot. By this time we were all getting a little tired, but surprisingly the kids were all pretty good. Caitlyn had the right idea.

Before we left I had to set the timer on the camera to get a group shot. I was going to take another but then I noticed that actually we all had looked at the camera. That was a miracle in itself.

So that's what we did today. We had a great day and enjoyed some great company with the Joyce crew. Dale starts back to school on Tuesday for summer school so we have to fit a few family days in before he is back to studying. So far I think we have had a couple of great days hanging out together. The kids were so tired tonight after our long day, but it was so worth it.

Strawberry Patch

We decided to go to the strawberry patch this evening. We went out to Bunn, NC at the Vollmer Farm. The kids had a blast. Here they are posing with some of their friends. They were all making their animal noises.

Chloe was so excited to find all the really red strawberries. We had to reinforce this to Caitlyn and Caleb didn't care, he had fun tasting them.

Here is Caleb making sure they tasted o.k.

They were all showing mommy their buckets of strawberries.

Dale had more fun than the kids, I think. He said that it was his first time picking strawberries.

Caleb showing me his progress.
I thought this was the cutest shot of Dale with Caleb. That is so precious. A definite memory keeper.

Caleb couldn't get enough. Look how he pokes his finger in it to hold it.

I think his expression says it all. What a fun time we had.

Calebs 1st Haircut

We finally took Caleb to get his first haircut. Here he is cheesing it up on the way out the door to the car.

He looked scared to death. He really didn't like it at first. He was screaming when the guy Julio tried to put the cape on. He wasn't doing it. So we just left it off.

After that he sat perfectly still.

Here is Caitlyn and Caleb at lunch today at Mimi's Cafe. It was delicious.

I'll post more pics later of other happenings over the last couple weeks. I gotta run and get Chloe from school. Check back later.

Mother's Day weekend and sorts

The MOUNTAIN: There is this mountain that every time we travel we see. Its somewhere outside of Winston Salem NC. We all call it something different. I call it the hump mountain, Chloe calls it the weird mountain and Caitlyn calls it my mountain. So on every trip I usually take a picture of the mountain from the car. Something weird we started to do. Crazy I know. So this weekend Dale saw a sign that read Pilot Mountain. I said I guess that's the mountain we always talk about, then we saw a sign for Pilot Mountain State Park. So on our way back yesterday we decided to stop and take a look at our famous mountain we talk so much about.

Here is our picture from the road. Then the sign that lead us up, up the mountain.
Our first picture at the overlook. The kids thought it was so cool. Then we saw some trails off to the side and decided to take a short walk. After climbing up some rocks we made it to the top. The top of the mountain is in the background. You can get to the top of it, but its a more difficult trail. Not with 3 small kids. Maybe another time.

Here Chloe and Caitlyn were "rock climbing"
The girls striking a pose.

This was a funny shot of us. I had to set the timer on the camera and hurry to get in it. Notice the "hump mountain " in the background.

This was a great way to end our weekend. I had a wonderful mothers day. I am so blessed to be the mother of 3 wonderful children.

Yesterday we went to church at The Fairmont Alliance in Fairmont, WV. Our good friends Larry and Natalie Hissam serving there. We had a great time catching up with them and their family. We got to enjoy a lovely breakfast served by the men of the church. It was such a nice treat.

The Wedding
This weekend we went out of town to Fairmont, WV for one of my best friends wedding. We were able to see a few friends from college and Dale got to show the kids where we went to college and all sorts of things. A lot has changed in 1o years, but Dale had fun.

Here is Caitlyn enjoying the chocolate covered strawberries.

Dale and the kids loving on him.

Me and Jessica

The girls were getting down on the dance floor. Here they are doing the chicken dance.

They had the money dance so they paid and danced with Jessica. All 3 of them. How sweet.

We had a great time at the wedding. We wish Jessica and Matt the best. May their marriage be blessed.
Here is daddy with his little man.

Me and my sweet children.
Well this was just a few of the pics I took from the weekend. We had a blast, but glad to be home.
