Fun in West Virginia

So we left on Friday afternoon from Wake Forest and traveled to West Virginia. I had worked Thursday night and was up the entire day and through the evening. So needless to say I was tired. I was so looking forward to sleeping in at least some, but I must have been dreaming to actually think that would happen at moms house. Bright and early I was up with mom barging through the house and waking up us all. Once Caleb is awake that means we all are awake. Then the phone rings and dads calling wanting me to take a picture with his camera of a white squirrel that Derek got hunting. So it was freezing outside and I was up with a smile on my face taking this picture.

We spent a lot of time at Aunt Denise and Uncle Eric's house (kid friendly). Denise is a real homemaker and actually cooks and bakes and does that kind of stuff. Here are my girls taking it all in. I'm taking notes on the side (ha ha) or so Dale hopes. They were helping make some dirt dessert for a church dinner the next day. They did such a great job!!
Then they were helping her take the yucky stuff out of a pumpkin so she could make some yummy pies. Chloe didn't like how it felt at all. It was so funny. Notice Caitlyn in the background eating one of Uncle Eric's famous milkshakes.

Denise got Caitlyn to sit still long enough for her to french braid her hair. It was so cute. I
couldn't believe it was long enough to do. She looked so much older and grown up :(

We celebrated our Christmas while we at my moms house. Here are a few pics of the chaos that ensues when you have 8 children under the age 9 in one house. My sister went hunting that day
with her husband. So she may look a little scruffy in the picture. I know you will love this picture Tricia. I got my niece, Colleen this little stroller. See how many people it takes to put it together.
It was worth the hassle, she loves it!!

Caleb has this thing for Tigger and anytime he sees one he wants it. He sleeps with a mini Tigger and so my sister regifted this BIG Tigger to Caleb. I actually gave her son this a few years back. The look on Caleb's face was priceless. He absolutely loves it.

Here Caitlyn is being a good little mommy to her new little Snugglekin, a baby tiger cub. Look at Caleb in the background climbing in his new little dump truck ride on that grandma and grandad got him. He is such a boy now. I'm sure he is glad that he doesn't have to ride on the Disney princess one the girls have.

Caleb is wondering what in the world is all this mess?

Here is Dad unwrapping his surprise gun sling. Don't worry Dad I'll send you the money for it:)
Look mommy I got a car. A police car at that and it even makes sounds. (oh boy)
Here is grandma and Caitlyn getting ready for bed.

The kids got this dance mat from high school musical for Christmas from grandma and grandad. We decided to try it out earlier. I thought I would give it a try. I almost had a heart attack. So I left it to the younger ones. Here are Chloe and Caitlyn getting down. They did such a good job. I'm just glad Dale didn't think fast enough to get a picture of me.

Well it has been a fun and busy few days. We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with family. Even though we aren't there for Thanksgiving day we are still so thankful for the time spent with them all. I hope each who reads this a very Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. But above all ,remember who to be the most thankful for, the one who gave His life for us, Jesus Christ.

This has been a great week. We started last Sunday finishing our shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Chloe and I finished the boxes together. We had went shopping and picked out some things for 2 little girls. I think Chloe really enjoyed herself and even wrote her a note and placed in the shoebox. It would really be neat if one of the little girls wrote her back.

Chloe had to disguise a turkey in school this week. We had to think of what to disguise the turkey so that he wouldn't be eaten at Thanksgiving dinner. Chloe decided to make her turkey a peacock. I thought this was a creative idea. So we made a dancing peacock.

On Friday Chloe had her Thanksgiving play at school. So we went to her school and watched her. She did such a great job!! Her class was dressed as the children in the play.
They were all so cute!!

We are in West Virginia at this time visiting my family and having our Thanksgiving/Chrismas celebration. The kids are having a blast playing with all their cousins. More pictures to come....

Friendly Visit

Well this has been a busy but fun weekend. We had some of our close friends in from Conway, SC, The Jackson 4. Maurice, Cindy, Shelley and Katheryn.

They came in on Friday evening and we have had such a great time. Chloe and Katheryn are great friends and Chloe has been glued to her hip all weekend. Here are a few fun pics from the weekend. Katheryn and Chloe always love to do stunts. Here is Chloe being Supergirl!!

Mr Maurice was putting a wrestling hold on Shelley.

Here are the girls putting on their silly faces and having so much fun . We really miss just hanging out with them.

Isn't this so sweet??

Many who know us, know we love Mexican food. We went out to eat at a local mexican restaurant even though it wasn't El Cerro Grande in Conway, SC. We had a good time of fun and fellowship.

Look closely at Caleb in the picture below. He was saying touchdown!!

Caleb loves giving high fives.

Finally it was time to settle down and the girls loved having their slumber party.

Caleb was so wore out. He fell alseep on Shelley. Isn't he so cute?

It was so funny. Caleb loved being around Shelley. I think he had a crush on her.

Today was Katheryn's 9th birthday. Happy Birthday!!

Caitlyn with her Yo Gabba Gabba Shirt.
We had a great time and weekend. Thanks guys for coming to see us and thanks for watching the kids on Saturday morning.

God is so AWESOME. Their is a local church in the area, Bay Leaf Baptist Church that does a toy chest for the seminary families. You can go there and get presents for a minimal cost for Christmas. It was just unreal. Such a blessing. People kept telling us about it and so Dale and I got up about 5 am on Saturday morning and went. The people at the church were so nice and I am so thankful for all they have done to help us and many other families during this season of giving. Thank You so much from the Myers Family, Bay Leaf Baptist Church!!

Tis The Season

Well it has been a busy kind of week in our house, or so it seemed. Maybe that was because I worked my nights 3 in a row, I'm not sure. Chloe has been out of school the last 3 weeks, so she will return to school in the AM. She is so excited.....NOT!! I am trying to explain to her she has a lot more years left of school, but it's not clicking in. Oh well, off to school in the morning. Here are a few pics from the week.
Here is Caitlyn after a busy day of playing at Miss Linda's house. She was so tired.

Chloe was trying to help mommy this week fix the vacuum cleaner. I had sucked a sock up a few weeks ago and I have never been able to retrieve it. So after several attempts of sticking a broom handle in the hose and several other things, I was losing my patience. Many who know me, knows this does not take long. So Dale had mentioned earlier in the week to try a clothes hanger. So Chloe and I try this only to poke 2 holes through the hose. That didn't work so well. So instead I cut the hose open and retrieved my sock. So that meant we were in for a new vacuum cleaner. After we bought one the box seemed like the perfect play land for Caleb.
He climbed in the box and had so much fun.

This picture is so cute. Look at him peeking out at me.

So many know that I am a wait until the last minute kind of person. So after cleaning the house this week, Chloe asked when we would put the Christmas tree up. I dismissed this idea at first, but then I got to thinking and it seems like over the last few years we put it up then go out of town and come home and put it away. We never got to really enjoy it. So on Saturday we decided to put our tree up. Since I had the whole weekend off, I had the energy so we took advantage of it and here we are. The kids and even Dale did a GREAT job!!
Here is Caitlyn placing one of her ornaments on the tree so strategically.
Here Caleb was trying so hard to get the ornament to stay on the tree. It was so cute and funny.
After a while, Caleb was finished and decided to take a rest and play trucks in the girls doll house.
Here are the girls displaying their final product. It was lots of fun and I actually enjoyed putting the tree up this year and we all looked at the ornaments the girls have made over the last few years. They were so excited to hang one of the ornaments with a picture on it or one they had made.
The lights aren't on in this picture, but we then turned them on and went outside to see the lights from the window. They were so excited to be able to see the lights from outside the window.
Even though I know its not even Thanksgiving yet, we decided that Christmas is all the time. We celebrate the birth and life of Jesus each day and so why wait to put our tree up in his honor. So Tis the Season of Thanksgiving and Celebrating the One who gave His life.

Fall festival

Dale took the kids down to Fayetteville last night to Steve and Jennifers church fall festival. I had to work, but here are a few pictures of them. They look so cute. Chloe says they had a great time and it was lots of fun. Here is Caitlyn the caterpillar and Caleb the Lion. Aren't they so cute! I know I may be a little bias here.

Here is Caleb with Caitlyn and Campbell

Chloe wanted to be a cheerleader this year. Yesterday we actually signed Chloe up for cheer leading through Upward, a program through a local church in the area. She is always talking about it, but she is a little nervous but I think excited as well.

Here is Daddy with his little caterpillar and ferocious lion :)

They made a few crafts at the church. Here is Caitlyn with her crown she made. Doesn't she look like a sweet princess. ( Looks can be deceiving:)

Jennifer had the caterpillar and the lion costume at her house, so I really didn't know what they looked like until I saw the pictures. Caleb looked so cute. He even kept the costume on Dale said without a fight. Here he is playing the duck game. Chloe is making her craft.

Here are my three munchkins. They are so adorable.

Caitlyn found a pink ducky to get some candy.

Look at Caleb trying to sneak some candy out of the bowl for himself. Look at his cute little tail.

Chloe with a new pencil.

Caleb was trying all night to get on the forklift. Dale let him pretend to drive and he loved it.

This is the cutest picture of the night. Look at the expression on Calebs face. He is so sweet. He looked like he was so happy to be a lion.

This was the crew at the end of the night. They all looked as if they ate too much candy already.
Thanks Steve and Jennifer for inviting us. The kids and Dale had a awesome time.
